Groundstar Music is an independent record label founded by Naretha Williams and Cyrus S Williams. It began as a platform for their own music and has since grown into something larger, a place dedicated to music that resists the generic.

We care about music that lingers in a room, that unsettles or seduces, music that feels lived-in and storytelling that leaves marks. We want records that carry weight, that people can return to years later and still feel the pulse in them.

Groundstar is shaped by the city we’re in. Melbourne is never one thing. It’s four seasons colliding in a single day, sun and rain fighting it out in the same hour. Unpredictable, unruly, beautiful. That chaos is our backdrop, and it keeps us restless. It keeps us open. It keeps us chasing the unexpected.

It’s a place for people who can’t help but make what they make, even if it doesn’t fit neatly anywhere else. That’s the catalogue we want to build, and we want listeners who are ready to lean into it with us.
